The Role of ICOS
The Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) is contracted by Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs as the managing agency for the Ireland Fellows Programme. ICOS is an independent non-profit that promotes best practice in relation to the recruitment, access and support of international students in Irish education.
ICOS works closely with the Irish Aid Directorate in the Department of Foreign Affairs on the management and administration of fellowships, as well as with embassies and colleges. Specific responsibilities include handling short-listed applications, placement administration, travel and accommodation services as well as financial management and practical support and training to fellowship awardees while they are in Ireland. Alumni networking is also facilitated by ICOS in conjunction with embassies.
Most inquiries regarding the Ireland Fellows Programme will be responded to by members of the Fellowships Team at ICOS.
