Online Fellowship Christmas Party
Some attendess at the Online Christmas Party
On Wednesday 16 December, the 2020/21 fellows attended the annual Christmas Party. The Christmas Party is always a welcome occasion for fellows to come together to celebrate the end of first semester and to ring in the festive season. In line with current government guidelines, the event was held remotely.
The Christmas Party was attended by fellows from over 25 different countries who are studying across Ireland. The Irish embassies around the world sent festive messages which were shared during the event.
The fellows had the opportunity to share their experiences of studying in Ireland so far and to discuss their plans for the Winter break. Plans included shopping at the Christmas markets in Cork and Limerick, exploring the West coast and visiting museums in Dublin. We learned that the most popular Christmas movie amongst the fellows is Home Alone and that the Book of Kells is the attraction they are most looking forward to seeing.
Prior to the party, the fellows were asked to submit photos and videos of themselves taking part in Christmas activities. There were several categories for fellows to take part in including a picture of the campus Christmas tree, the best lights in their town and the best shop window decorations. The many photos received were shared on the night, with the best entries receiving prizes. Videos of fellows preforming Christmas dance routines were also shared.
We wish the 2020/21 fellows a very happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!
