Fellowship Seminar Day 2019 in Limerick

Minister of State for the Diaspora and Overseas Development, Ciaran Cannon, TD, at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Limerick with Irish Aid Fellows for the 2019 Fellowship Seminar Day.

On Friday April 12th, Minister of State for the Diaspora and Overseas Development, Ciaran Cannon, TD, welcomed the 2018/19 fellows to the annual Fellowship Seminar Day at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Limerick.

Fellows were addressed by Minister Cannon on the nearly 50-year history of the Irish Government’s fellowship programmes and received a presentation on Ireland’s new Policy for International Development, A Better World.

Four of this year's fellows also made presentations on their research and experiences while studying in Ireland. The four speakers were Nour Alsourani (Palestine), Jidah Judith Kisembo (Uganda), Gloria Nakajubi (Uganda) and Yibeltal Mekonnen Feyissa (Ethiopia).

This was the last event at which all of the 2018/19 fellows will be together with the fellowships team in Ireland. We wish all 2018/19 fellows the best of luck in their exams and dissertations in the weeks and months ahead, and look forward to staying connected into the future after they return to their home countries and begin to put into practice what they have learned over the course of their studies in Ireland.
